| Metric | Latest | YoYYoY means Year-over-Year. It compares the latest annual value with the previous annual value to show long-term trend strength. | QoQQoQ means Quarter-over-Quarter. It compares the latest quarter with the immediately previous quarter to show short-term momentum changes. |
|---|---|---|---|
| RevenueThe total money that came through the front door from selling things, before paying a single bill. Think of it as the grand total of every credit card swipe from customers. (YoY compares this year to last year's performance, while QoQ compares the current three months to the previous three). | $1.9B | -39.2% | -62.7% |
| Net IncomeThe absolute bottom line. If the company paid every single supplier, employee, banker, and tax collector, this is the actual money left in their pocket at the end of the day. | $-2.8B | +20.8% | +41.8% |
| Gross MarginThe basic markup. If they sell a $100 pair of sneakers, this percentage tells you how much of that price tag is profit right after paying for the rubber and shoelaces, but before paying for things like store rent or TV commercials. | +55.3% | +2.1% | +124.6% |
| Operating MarginThe 'day job' efficiency score. Out of every dollar a customer spends, this shows how many cents the company keeps after making the product AND paying for all the everyday corporate overhead (like salaries, marketing, and keeping the lights on). | -158.1% | -28.2% | -57.5% |
| Net MarginThe final take-home percentage. When you strip away every conceivable cost, tax, and interest payment, this is the exact number of cents the company truly gets to keep from every dollar in sales. | -145.2% | -30.4% | -56.2% |
| Free Cash FlowThe holy grail of corporate cash. It's the spendable, physical money left over after the business pays for its daily operations AND buys the big, expensive upgrades (like new factories or servers) it needs to survive. This is the 'free' money they can use to pay dividends or buy back stock. | $-2.1B | +49.1% | +18.6% |
| FCF MarginThe ultimate cash conversion rate. It shows how good the company is at turning regular sales directly into cold, hard, spendable cash. A high percentage means the business is an absolute cash-printing machine. | -106.2% | +16.2% | -118.3% |
| Debt / EquityThe financial risk gauge. It compares how much of the company's empire was built using borrowed money (loans) versus the owners' own money (shareholders). A high number means they are heavily leveraged and playing a riskier game; a low number means they are playing it safe. | 22.2% | +223.2% | +8.6% |
| Current RatioThe 12-month survival check. It simply compares the cash they have right now (plus things they can quickly turn into cash) against the immediate bills they absolutely must pay this year. A score above 1 means they have enough in the wallet to cover the upcoming bills without panicking. | 3.29x | -10.3% | -4.7% |
| Total AssetsThe absolute size of the company's empire. It bundles together absolutely everything of value they own—from the cash in the register and the inventory in the warehouse, to the software patents in the vault and the factories on the ground. | $12.3B | -12.8% | -4.6% |

Operator: Good day, and thank you for standing by. Welcome to the Moderna Second Quarter 2026 Conference Call. Please be advised today's conference is being recorded. I would now like to hand the conference over to your speaker today, Lavina Talukdar. Please go ahead. Lavina Talukdar: Thank you, Kevin. Good morning, everyone, and thank you for joining us on today's call to discuss Moderna's second quarter 2026 financial results and business update. You can access the press release issued this morning as well as the slides that we'll be reviewing by going to the Investors section of our website. On today's call are Stéphane Bancel, our Chief Executive Officer; Stephen Hoge, our President; Jamey Mock, our Chief Financial Officer; and David Berman, our Chief Development Officer. Before we begin, please note that this conference call will include forward-looking statements made pursuant to the safe harbor provisions of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. Please see Slide 2 of the accompanying presentation and our SEC filings for important risk factors that could cause our actual performance and results to differ materially from those expressed or implied in these forward-looking statements. With that, I will now turn the call over to Stéphane. Stéphane Bancel: Thank you, Lavina. Good morning or good afternoon, everyone. Thank you for joining us. After my review of the second quarter, Jamey will present our financial results and outlook, followed by Stephen with recent business updates. Then David will review our clinical progress in oncology and rare diseases. And then I will close by discussing our key value drivers. As you know, the second quarter is always light for seasonal vaccines. We generated revenue of $0.1 billion, which exceeded the top of our range. Our focus on financial discipline continued. We reduced cash cost by 10% in Q2 compared to the second quarter of 2025. We reported a net loss of $0.8 billion. We ended the quarter with $6.9 billion in cash and investments, maintaining a strong balance sheet while continuing to invest in our pipeline. Overall, I am pleased with our continued execution across the business. This team has done a great job to get us ready for the '26, '27 vaccination season, and our pipeline is progressing well. During the quarter, we delivered several important updates across our pipeline. In our respiratory portfolio, our seasonal flu vaccine, mRNA-1010, received a positive recommendation from the U.S. VRBPAC. This represents another important milestone ahead of our August 5 PDUFA date and brings us one step closer to potentially making our flu vaccine available to patients. For our norovirus vaccine, mRNA-1403, following an interim analysis, we are preparing to enroll an additional cohort in its Phase III trial. In oncology, we are very pleased to present the 5-year Phase II update of Intismeran autogene in combination with KEYTRUDA in adjuvant melanoma at ASCO 2026, highlighting the …

MRNA keeps its 2026 growth target intact while cutting cost guidance and advancing flu, oncology and rare-disease programs toward key milestones.

Positive readouts in cancer and cardiac drug trials could keep the rally going. Sizing up the stakes for Merck, Moderna, Summit Therapeutics, and more.

The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new kind of flu vaccine for older people, the first made with the same mRNA technology that was key to ending the COVID-19 pandemic, said the manufacturer, Moderna. The shot, named mFlusiva, is intended for adults who are 50 and older. Other brands of flu shots already have begun arriving in pharmacies ahead of fall vaccination season, and Moderna said late Wednesday that it expects some of its new version to be available soon at select retailers. While there already are multiple flu vaccine options in the U.S., including three specifically recommended for people age 65 or older, tens of thousands of Americans die from influenza every year and older adults are among the most vulnerable.Flu vaccines must be updated annually to best match circulating strains of the virus.

Moderna (MRNA) stock made a name for itself during the height of the pandemic, trading as high as $497 five years ago in 2021. Now, shares of the drugmaker sit at $55.12, pivoting lower despite the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approving the company's flu vaccine.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Wednesday approved Moderna Inc.'s (NASDAQ:MRNA) mFLUSIVA (mRNA-1010), a new vaccine against seasonal influenza, for use in all adults 50 years and older.
