On Aug. 19, 2026, the U.S. Treasury said it would increase the size of its nominal long-end liquidity-support buybacks, specifically across the 10–20 year and 20–30 year maturity sectors, with the maximum size per operation moving from $2 billion to at least $4 billion, effective Sept. 9, 2026 (for the remainder of the refunding quarter through Nov. 4, 2026).
