Semiconductor materials: the consumables a fab cannot run without
A fab's capital equipment gets the attention, but the plant stops without a continuous supply of extremely pure consumables. Several of them come from a small number of producers in a small number of countries, which is why this branch appears on every serious analysis of semiconductor supply risk.

The defining requirement is purity.
