Sempra, TotalEnergies ship first LNG cargo from ECA LNG Phase 1
Sempra Infrastructure and TotalEnergies have successfully shipped the first LNG cargo from their ECA LNG Phase 1 project in Baja California, Mexico, marking a significant step towards full commercial operations. TotalEnergies lifted the inaugural cargo, which was sent to Asia. The project, featuring a 3.25-million tpy liquefaction train, is expected to reach substantial completion by summer 2026 and will export US natural gas from the Permian basin to Pacific Basin markets via a shorter shipping route.
