KKR joins US consortium to buy Australia's Steadfast in $5.3 billion deal
Global investment firm KKR has joined a U.S. consortium alongside Amwins Group and Dragoneer Investment in a A$7.7 billion ($5.33 billion) proposal to acquire Australian insurance broker Steadfast. KKR will act as a co-lead investment partner with Dragoneer, which plans to take control of Steadfast's retail brokerage business, while Amwins will acquire the underwriting agency operations. The consortium's offer of A$6 per Steadfast share, initially made in June, remains unchanged, and KKR's involvement will not delay the deal's timeline.
