Nicholas Howley and Douglas Peacock. The company specializes in the design, production, and supply of highly engineered aircraft components, systems, and subsystems used on nearly all commercial and military aircraft worldwide. TransDigm operates through three distinct divisions: Power & Control, Airframe, and Non-Aviation, each serving a broad customer base including airframe manufacturers, airlines, defense agencies, and industrial equipment producers.
The Power & Control division provides critical systems such as electromechanical actuators, engine ignition, pumps, valves, power regulation, motors, generators, and energy storage, while the Airframe division offers structural and interior components like latching mechanisms, sealing solutions, cockpit safety systems, and passenger amenities. The Non-Aviation division extends into industrial markets with safety harnesses, actuators for space vehicles, and turbine controls for energy sectors.
Financially, TransDigm demonstrates strong profitability with a gross profit margin of approximately 59.6% and EBITDA margin of 49.7% as of the latest TTM. The company has a market capitalization around $69 billion and trades on the New York Stock Exchange. Its business model focuses on proprietary products with high barriers to entry, generating significant cash flows and enabling substantial investment in acquisitions—over 100 businesses acquired since inception.
Under the leadership of President and CEO Michael J. Lisman, who took office in October 2025, and Founder/Chairman Nick Howley, TransDigm employs approximately 16,500 people worldwide. The company is known for its decentralized structure with 55 independent operating units, fostering innovation and efficiency. Despite its high debt levels, TransDigm maintains robust free cash flow and continues to expand its product portfolio, catering to a diverse clientele from commercial airlines to military procurement and industrial manufacturers, while prioritizing safety, reliability, and technological advancement.

Michael Lisman: Good morning, and thanks for calling in today. First, I'll start off with the usual quick overview of our strategy; second, make a few comments about the quarter; and third, discuss our fiscal '26 outlook. Then Patrick and Sarah will give some additional color on the quarter. Fourth, we acquire businesses that fit this strategy and where we see a clear path to private …
